NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS Swim for Life 2010: Registration is now open for the 2010 Maryland Swim for Life, hosted by DCAC.  Our annual 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-, or 5-mile open water swim in the Eastern Shore's Chester River raises money for Washington, DC-area charities that serve those afflicted with HIV/AIDS.  We strongly encourage everyone to participate, either as a swimmer, a donor or a volunteer.  For more information on Swim For Life, click the link on the right side of this page.  There is also a Facebook group you can join as well.  Simply type in "DCAC Swim For Life" in the search field to join. Practice Schedule Update: Takoma Aquatic Center will now not be closing for the summer, as originally planned. Because of this, we will maintain our normal Summer Practice Schedule. Please click here for our detailed practice schedule (as of June 21, 2010).    July Happy Hour: Kick off the Fourth of July Weekend by joining us for our July monthly fundraising happy hour at Duplex Diner on Friday, July 2nd from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Duplex Diner is located at 18th & U Streets, NW. All are welcome to attend, including guests. Independence Day Weekend Practice Schedule: We will have practice on Saturday, July 3rd at Hains Point from 8:30 - 10:00 am. We are canceling our practice on Sunday, July 4th due to the festivities being held on the National Mall. We will have practice on Monday, July 5th at Hains Point from 7:00 - 8:30 pm.
